Medellin and the BASS WH*RE
Monday, December 5th, 2011
I’ve been in Colombia the past week getting down in Medellin. It is an amazing city and don’t let people tell you otherwise. Besides that I’ve been in the studio and the LA Fashion District most these days working on a new project with my friend from Berlin. Last Sunday we Djed our other local Colombian friend’s rooftop in K-town. I got a little drunk a little early and didn’t hold the camera the right way, but you will get an idea of the view we had while getting warmed up on our ableton set.
It’s been a while since I posted anything so here is 3 downloads for ya! Here is my latest mix of Bass’d out Disco House music for everyone who gets off on bass.
Here is an unreleased deep house track that I did a while back. It has been used all around LA by the infamous Leopold Nunan in his live performances.
Here is my good friend Herc’s from Medellin’s mixtape. Kid is nuts and everytime we went out with him he was usually up till the afternoon. This guy gets it way better than most people in LA. The first night we went out we ended up in this club called Mansion and literally every girl there looked straight out of a Colombian fashion magazine. The DJ was dropping some of the best techno i’ve heard outside of Europe. When the club closed around 3am we walked down the street in Poblado with Hercs, our other good parce (medellin for homie) Antonio and all the girls and threw an after party at this tattoo shop on the main street. We left when the sun came up and they thought we were pussies. The next night somehow we ended up in a warehouse with Hercs, with Kompact’s own Matias Aguayo rocking the CDJ’s for nearly 4 hours. No way in most of America would you find kids this down. On top of that he mixes better than most DJs here on the deephouse and disco. One day I hope to see the kid up in the states. Anyway much luv to Medellin and all wonderful people that city has blessed this world with, enjoy Herc’s mix below.
